The 2011 SPAR Women’s Challenge (Pretoria leg) in association with Jacaranda 94.2, was officially launched at the Irene Country Lodge on Wednesday 1 June 2011.  As always the race and entire campaign has a firm focus on social upliftment and community, and a share of the proceeds will be donated to various charitable causes.

The 2011 challenge offers a phenomenal event for all women runners, from advanced to amateur. The event includes both a 10km and a 5km race for those interested in shorter distances, and will be hosted at Super Sport Park in Pretoria on 27 August 2011.  The 10km race forms part of the SPAR Women’s 10km Grand Prix Challenge, a series of five 10km races hosted across the country. The Pretoria leg is the second last of the series, which is currently being led by defending champion - Irvette van Blerk.
